Sacred Sounds

“If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason sound heals on a physical level is that it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.”

/Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, the Director of Medical Oncology and Integrative Medicine at the Cornell Cancer Prevention Center in New York

Performing Sacred Sounds with diaphragmatic breathing harmonizes our body’s frequency. The associated vibrations of the breathing in each sound are intended to match a specific organ (e.g., liver, kidney, spleen, etc.) to feed energy into it. It stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, regulates heartbeat, blood flow, breathing, and digestion, and helps us avoid future "fight-or-flight" responses to mentally or physically terrifying situations. The opposite is also true. If we disrupt the sound frequency of an organ, it may lose energy and we can become sick.

    Sound Healing:
The sound "ois vibrated in the chest and heals coughs, bronchitis, tracheitis, and pneumonia.
The sound "e" positively affects the eyes, activates the brain, and clears the sinuses.
The sound "i" vibrates in the chest and goes up to the top of the head. It is good to clean the chest, heart, eyes, and ears.
The digraph sound "ya" vibrates in the throat and travels down through the body, harmonizing the whole organism, relieving pain, and healing the nervous system.
The sound "u" vibrates in the throat. It is called the "cleaner" of the body and is believed to eliminate negative energy.
The digraph sound  "ah" sung in high tones, affects the trachea and the thyroid gland and relieves spasms.

Getting well is a steady process that starts with you. One study found that, if you want to heal yourself, do the following exercise once or twice a day: take a deep breath and then say the sound that suits you best, mentally directing it to the diseased organ. Exhale the sound as long as possible - as long as there is enough air! It is most beneficial to “chant” the whole series of sounds. For diseases of the heart or lungs, pronounce sounds in low tones, for diseases of the liver, spleen, stomach, kidneys, and intestines - in medium or high tones.
Body, soul, and spirit are dependent upon one another. What affects one, affects all. That is why chanting can be used to increase positivity and improve focus. Once those states of mind are achieved, all the senses are naturally awakened.
